NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
PSX Extreme has been around the block since 1999, offering up news, reviews, features, and other content to its large, PlayStation-obsessed community.
Now, we want you. As of late, we’ve been on the prowl for new contributors. If you have an innate sense of news coverage, this position is for you.
We want to be completely transparent – this isn’t a job. We cannot pay you. What we can offer is a byline to spruce up your portfolio or just brag to your friends about how you write for a site that’s older than the PS2. We cannot promise this will change any time soon.
Now that most of the people seeking employment are gone, welcome to the actual news contributor description.
As a news contributor, your job is to find news and/or take coverage suggested by any of the three main editors. After the process of writing is finished on your part, you’ll send off a message on the private Discord server to the news editor, notifying them it’s ready for review.
This is a very barebones description that doesn’t cover everything (featured images, excerpts, tags, categories, etc.), but it will do and everything will be revealed during the interviewing process.
- Above-average knowledge of written English.
- Deep knowledge and love of PlayStation – doesn’t have to be fanboy level, but you shouldn’t absolutely disdain the platform.
- Able to maintain at least one article a week.
- Constant access to Discord (mobile, browser, PC, etc.).
- Knowledge of WordPress (or willingness to learn).
- Knowledge of SEO (or willingness to learn).
Our ideal candidate already has skin in the game. They have knowledge of SEO, WordPress, and are able to find something to cover and take the initiative to write about the moment they can.
Any questions about this position should be directed to the news editor via his email – gabriel [at] psxextreme [dot] com.
We hope to hear from you.
