Website Nerds and Scoundrels

Nerds and Scoundrels is hiring freelance contributors. Founded in 2018, Nerds and Scoundrels is a gaming blog dedicated to guides, walkthroughs, and Top 10 lists. We are ready to grow our team with new writers that want to grow with us. We are interested in seeing your portfolio, but we are open to first-time writers as long as you can contribute each week.

Compensation

We pay $1 per 100 words. Most of our assignments will be between 1000-2000 words, although they can be as short as 300 or as long as 3500+ in certain cases.

The number of assignments depends on your availability. We would like to have at least 2,000 words per week; if we are happy with your work we likely have as many assignments as you have time for.

Perks

While this being a paying gig is the primary perk, we do get some game codes on prerelease that we can share. If you would like to get credentialed at a gaming con near your area, we might be able to help with that too.

Most of all, we will add you to our list of contributors and attribute all of your posts to you. You are free to use these in your portfolio or on social media.

Type of Content

We are primarily dedicated to video game guides and Top 10 lists. However, we also branch out into Dungeons and Dragons, gaming tech, and gear reviews. The more of these categories you are interested in writing about / have experience with, the more we are interested in you. The topics we’re looking for in a rough order of importance are:

  • Gaming Guides ( currently: Warframe, MHW, Stardew Valley)
  • Gaming Gear Buyers Guide (Ex: Best Laptops for Warframe, etc)
  • D&D 5E
  • Gaming Tech (When is Full Dive VR coming? What does Frame Rate Mean?)
